Vitor Roque moved to Palmeiras, after the Brazilian giants had confirmed their tent on the last day of the Brazilian transfer window. O Verdao brought the Brazilian back only 14 months after he left Athletico Paranaense, the Brazilian to join Barcelona.
On Thursday afternoon, Real Betis confirmed an agreement with Barcelona to terminate the loan agreement of Roque. It is assumed that Barcelona has given up assets worth around € 4.5 million to encourage betis to agree, because they first of all earn back the money they wanted to return to Roque.
The Blaugrana set up € 30 million for Roque last January, plus another € 31 million in variables (which were earned none of them), who handed over a seven-year contract until 2031 the 20-year-old. But after struggling for playing time under Xavi Hernandez, he was lent to Betis and was from their plans for the future.
The deal that brings him to Palmeiras will keep Barcelona 20% of every future sale and yield € 25.5 million plus € 5 million in variables. It is an operation with which Barcelona can complete the deal without making losses, even though his stock has fallen in the past year. It is assumed that Barcelona would like to continue and put the salary limit room in the direction of contract innovations for Inigo Martinez, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal in the coming months.
“It is an honor to wear the shirt of the biggest champion in Brazil,” Roque explained.
“Since the news began to arise about the possibility of my transfer to Palmeiras, I have received a number of messages from Palmeiras fans, and that affection has made the difference. I can't wait to become a member of my teammates and be on the field to help Palmeiras.”
Betis itself had a purchase option for € 25 million on Roque, but after having spent € 13 million to bring in Cucho Hernandez in January, it became clear that Los Verdiblancos was not going to have Roque quickly make their star made ahead. The deal is a record for a Latin -American side, which last month surpassed the € 20 million botafogo that was issued to Wendel.
