Palmer rocks up at McDonald drive-through, fans joke: they don’t do chippy chips

COLE PALMER popped into McDonald's for dinner during the international break after missing England's double win under Lee Carsley.

Chelsea star Palmer withdrew from the latest Three Lions squad after suffering a blow to the knee in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United this month.

Palmer came through and played all 90 minutes in the 1–1 stalemate against Arsenal a week later.

But he opted to miss England's wins over Greece and the Republic of Ireland to recover properly for Saturday's trip to Leicester.

And while he regained his strength, Palmer decided to treat himself to an overnight trip to Maccies.

In a photo shared on social media, Palmer sat in the driver's seat of a silver car stopped at a drive-through window.

The Chelsea star was all smiles as he looked at the camera, which was held from inside McDonald's.

And on either side of the open window were two workers who posed while performing Palmer's signature “cold” celebration.

Palmer's impromptu foray for a cheeky meal went down well with fans, although one warned the striker against getting his hands on his favorite chippy chips.

The supporter said: “They don't do chippy chips.”

Another stated: “It's too cold here.”

One commented: “Mc Chippy Chip.”

Another added: “The influence is insane.”

Palmer enjoyed an incredible debut season at Chelsea last season after joining from Man City.

He scored 22 goals and assisted another 11 in 34 games under former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

And Palmer looks just as sharp with Enzo Maresca, who has helped himself to seven goals and five assists in 11 games in the new season.

His form has probably resulted in some of his favorite Chinese post-match dinners, including the legendary 'chippy chips'.

Palmer previously said: “(Favorite post-match meal?) Chinese, salt and pepper chicken, rice. No salt and pepper chips, too many.

'Do you know chippy chips? They have to be chips, otherwise you won't get them. Curry sauce, noodles.”
