Lucas Paqueta's wife said that their families' has lived a nightmare for two years, because the midfielder of West Ham is waiting for the outcome of a spot-fixing investigation.
Paqueta broke off in tears after he had shown a yellow card on Sunday during the 1-1 draw from his side with Tottenham.
The Brazilian international, 27, was booked by referee Michael Oliver after the pollution of Mikey Moore to stop a counterattack in the 73rd minute in the London Stadium.
Cameras showed him that he used his shirt to wipe his eyes after an emotional reaction to caution – and he was soon replaced by Baas Graham Potter.
Mail Sport reported last month that Paqueta's FA Spot-fixing hearing was not closed during the three-week period of time originally hoped and he is now forced to wait a few weeks until the case restarts.
He has fought to prove that he is innocent in picking up yellow cards in order to influence the bet results and is confronted with a lifelong ban if he is found guilty.
Sources said that the unrest is mentally burdened on Paqueta, who has long maintained his innocence against the charges of the FA.
Paqueta is accused of deliberately booked in four Premier League matches, against Leicester in 2022, Plus Leeds United, Aston Villa and Bournemouth the following year.
In writing on Instagram, Maria Eduarda Fournier, who married Paqueta in 2018 and had two children with the West Ham -star, defended her husband and stated that their family 'this nightmare has been living for two years'.
“I never said anything here, and maybe I shouldn't have had that! My husband has an attitude and power that I admire and that impresses me, “she wrote.
'We have been living this nightmare for two years and he is always strong … He has always had it in his head that he would only defend himself at the right time and place!
There is nothing against him. Have you never noticed that?
'Anyway, God knows everything, and only He knows why we are going through this! And only because of him are we good and they happily live like a family!
“I just wanted people to respect him. People are mean and unfair, without knowing anything! '
West Ham boss Graham Potter, who spoke after the game, suggested that the tears of the Brazilian after it were booked to be due to frustration.
“I think he is just a player who tries his absolutely best and wants the situation to get better and probably a bit frustrated by the action,” said Potter.
“And then you see a person, not perfect, but I love Luke. He has given everything and in difficult circumstances he is too. He has given everything and it is absolutely fine now. '
Paqueta's hearing started on March 17 and was planned for possibly in the past three weeks.
However, because of the large amount of evidence that is evaluated, Mail Sport understands that at least a fourth week is necessary, with individuals near the case who say they are now stuck during a break.
It is assumed that it can only be resumed in June.
