Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 Lille: Ligue 1 leaders hit four first-half goals in rout

Paris Saint-Germain continued their ruthless Mars to a fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title with a 4-1 win over the fifth Lille on Saturday and scored all their goals in the first half.

The Capital Club has 62 points of 24 games and now has a 16-point lead on both Marseille, which Nantes organizes on Sunday, and third place fun.

PSG's waves of attacks forced Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier in various saves while he asked to stop the tide.

Bradley Barcola scored the first goal of the home team after six minutes, with a rebound after a Chevalier rescue of Ousmane Dembele, and from there it just got worse for Lille.

Marquinhos doubled their lead by bundling home in the 22nd minute, and only six minutes later Dembele added a third to everything, but the points completed.

In the 37th minute, Desire Doue completed the first half with a brilliant strike from a tight angle, so Lille little to play for, but proudly after the restart.

Both parties created opportunities in the second half and 10 minutes from time, Jonathan David got a comfort for Lille, who remained at 41 points, two behind the fourth -placed Monaco.

PSG has now scored at least four goals in the first half of 12 Ligue 1 matches since the start of the era of Qatar Sports Investments.

Since the beginning of 2011-12, no other team has achieved performance more than three times.

With the goal of Doue in the 37th minute, this was the first time that PSG had scored four goals since April 2018 in that phase of a Ligue 1 match, in a 7-1 win over Monaco where they were four at 27 minutes.

With Marquinhos that comes on the action, PSG has now had 16 different goal scorers in Ligue 1 this season.

Only Inter (17) have had more different scorers in one of Europe's top five competitions in 2024-25.
