Partey charged with 5 counts of rape & 1 count of sexual assault against 3 women

Arsenal -footballer Thomas Partey is accused of five counts of rape and one count of sexual violence, said the Crown Prosecution Service.

Two of the counts of rape relate to one woman, three to a second woman, and the only count of sexual attack relates to a third woman.

They reportedly took place between 2021 and 2022, and he will now appear on 5 August at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

“The Crown Prosecution Service has authorized the Metropolitan Police Service to charge a man after a evidence file has been submitted by detectives,” said the statement.

“The ME has issued an indictment and application to Thomas Partey, 32 (13/06/1992), Van Hertfordshire, in connection with the following violations: five counts of rape, one count of sexual violence.”

Partey had just left Arsenal at the start of the month after his contract with the club had expired.

The 32-year-old football player is accused of attacking three women between 2021 and 2022.

The costs follow a three -year study by Scotland Yard and only rose five days after his arsenal contract rose on 30 June.

He is currently in the Emirates without a club after five seasons.

The Ghanaian international midfielder is accused of five counts of rape. Two counts of rape relate to one woman and three counts of rape relate to a second woman.

The only count of sexual attack relates to a third woman. None of the alleged victims can be called.

Pareny will appear on the Westminster Magistrates' Court on 5 August.

Detective -head inspector Andy Furphy, whose team leads the research, said: “Our priority continues to support the women who have emerged.

'We would ask everyone who has been struck by this case or anyone who asked any information to talk to our team. You can contact investigators about this study by sending an e -mail to [email protected] '

The Metropolitan Police said that the investigation into Thomas Pardeny started in February 2022 after officers had received a report of rape for the first time.

He was first arrested in July 2022, although he was not mentioned at the time and continued to play for Arsenal while investigations were underway.

The exit of Thomas Partey from Arsenal was confirmed last month after the negotiations over a new deal came to a 'full standstill' in mid -June.

Partey came to Arsenal for £ 45 million from Atletico Madrid on Deadline Day in October 2020.

The Ghana International played 167 times for the Gunners and scored nine goals.

Partey was injured for large chunks of the 2023-24 season, but returned as an important figure for Mikel Arteta's last campaign when they reached the semi-final of the Champions League.

His Stint in North London has not brought any big trophies, although he played in their 2023 Community Shield fines victory over Manchester City.

He is now looking for a new club.

He recently said that his family will be a decisive factor in determining his future.

'I think the first is where you are happy and where do you feel at home. At the end of the day you have been to football, you have been to different teams, he said.

'There are many things that you now have to watch with a family, where you want them to be happy. If you are young, you just play everywhere.

'I am an Arsenal fan, I can't decide anything and just have to leave it to my agent and the club. I, I just want to enjoy football. '

Partey played three except for three of Arsenal's Premier League matches last season, scored four goals and claimed two assists when they became second for the third consecutive campaign.
