Paulo Costa was in the headlines for a strange reason prior to his UFC 318 fight last Saturday.
While most attention surrounded UFC 318 Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway last Saturday, the former UFC Middleweight Title -seconder Paulo Costa was on the way to a huge fight to save his career.
After having had a dominant loss for Robert Whittaker, Costa tried to bounce back against Sean Strickland only a few months later, but she was closely beaten at UFC 302, with back-to-back losing.
And then before his UFC 318 fight against Roman Kopylov, it seemed like the head of the Brazilian was elsewhere when he started a feud with Khamzat Chimaev.

Paulo Costa reveals 'legal injections' caused shaking in viral video
Only a few days out of his collision against Kopylov, Costa and the other main card hunters participated in the press conference before the fight in an attempt to build a last-minute hype for the event.
But it was not entirely about planning 'the eraser' that caused concern among the fans while visibly starting to shake on stage.
After the video had gone online viral, fans of Costa used drugs, which shook him, but it was not clear what was wrong with the former title -publishing.
Fortunately, however, it did not seem to play a role in the fight of Costa when he set up a vintage version and returned to winning ways after dropping Kopylov during their scrap.
And now only a few days away from the fight, Costa has revealed what the strange shaking caused during the press conference before the fight.
“Too much energy, too much real power, real desire to win, you know, I trusted this victory and I think NAD, the vitamin,” Costa told Ariel Helwani.
“NAD plus. There is a company that sponsors the UFC, they sent me some vitamins, they are injections. Legal injections, I took some injections and it made me so energetic,” Costa continued.
It is unclear what vitamins Costa are talking about, but he claimed that they were completely 'legal' and provided by a UFC sponsor.
Costa wants to increase his chances of a fight against Chimaev
In just under a month at UFC 319, Dricus Du Plessis was set up to defend his title against Khamzat Chimaev in the main event.
And for the Chicago event, Costa has revealed that in an attempt he will secure a fight against 'Borz', he will travel to the Windy City and be present during the fight week.
With the feud between the two, the promotion may not allow 'The Gumer' to be seen during the event the history of Khamzat of starting fights with other hunters during the Vechtweek.
