Pep Guardiola has revealed that he has planned his future in football after leaving Manchester City.
While City suffered a dramatic slump in shape during the halfway point of last season, speculation came up that Guardiola would mention time on his illustrious enchantment that was in charge of the club.
It is understood to mean that club heads started with provisional planning for a future without the Catalan who was in charge, while Guardiola got in touch of the FA about the then vacant England job.
In November, however, the former boss of Barcelona voted in an extension of his current deal with the club, leaving him at Etihad until 2027.
Although speculation Guardiola has consistently connected to some of the top tracks in world football after his time has ended in Manchester, the 54-year-old recently revealed that instead he will look to get away from football when time comes.
“I know that I will stop the city after this phase, that's for sure, it is decided, more than decided,” Guardiola told GQ.
“I will leave with the city after this phase, because I have to stop and concentrate on myself, on my body.”
Guardiola thought about his decision to leave Barcelona in 2012 after he led the club to 14 trophies during his four seasons that were in charge of the Nou -camp.
He continued: 'I think I know how to stop at the right time. The same thing happened to me with my coaching job [at Barcelona]There came a time when I said that enough is enough. I'm looking for a new challenge. '
Despite a gloomy period that saw them fall as low as seventh in the Premier League table, Guardiola's side recovered to eventually secure the Champions League football.
“If you win six prominent competitions, there will come a time when you go down,” he added.
“That is human nature. Then we would probably have had to move more players, but it is very easy to say that afterwards … “
With the return of the Premier League now just a few weeks away, City has wasted little time on strengthening their team in the transfer market.
Algerian defender Rayan Ait-Nouri completed a move of £ 33.7 million to the Etihad of Wolves last month, with Lyon Winger Rayan Cherki the following days later.
City has also completed the signing sessions of Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan and Norwegian midfielder Sverre Nypan from Rosenberg.
