Pep Guardiola saw his side go through ANOTHER game without a win and admitted his struggling champions need an injection of new blood in the upcoming transfer window.
Everton's Iliman Ndiaye canceled out Bernardo Silva's early strike and Erling Haaland had a second-half penalty saved by Jordan Pickford as Manchester City's shock run extended to one win in 13 games.
“If we can, we should definitely add players in January,” Guardiola said. “I think even the players were wondering… are we going to add some players?! Please!”
“The winter period is not easy. We have to add some players, but we also have to bring players for the next three, four, five years – and that is not easy.”
Guardiola was missing eight senior players for the draw with Sean Dyche's side, with Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish the latest to be sidelined.
“Kyle has the flu, a virus. Jack felt something muscular again yesterday or the day before. I don't know why,” sighed Guardiola, who claimed to be satisfied with another poor performance from his side.
“The first half was brilliant but the first time they arrive they score a goal. Then we had the chances. The rest of the game was well played. We played very well but we are now in the period where this is what happens.” – we create, we indulge.
“The performance against that team was very good offensively and defensively. We shot a lot within the 18-meter area, but unfortunately we could not achieve the desired result.”
Dyche insisted a draw was a fair result and is impressed with how resilient his Everton team have become.
He said: “The most important thing for me is the mentality. It is constantly growing. We have continued. Two defeats against thirteen in the Premier League is not easy.
“Since I was here there have been a lot of suppressed feelings about the club. It has taken time and it has been hard work. The new owners have talked about stability. It takes time. There is no immediate solution but the story is beginning to change.” turn again and feel more positive.”
