Manchester City has missed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz and now weigh the movements for Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White and AC Milan's Tijjani Reijners
Manchester City missed Pep Guardiola's best transfer target after he had pulled out of the race to sign Florian Wirtz, where the club now focuses on two potential alternative options.
City focused on Wirtz as a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who will leave the club when his contract ends at the end of the season, but they no longer chase the playmaker because of financial concerns about the deal.
Bayer Leverkusen hopes that no less than £ 126 million for Wirtz and City will not be willing to meet their requirements, because it claimed that the total financial package could be £ 250 million, including wages.
According to a report from the Times City now movements for Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White and AC Milan's Tijjani Reijners. The report states that Reijnders is available for around £ 55 million.
Gibbs-White has since played this season for Bos in their bid for European football. The 25-year-old has so far delivered 17 target contributions in 33 league matches for Forest.
They are currently seventh in the competition, although only one point separates them from the third placed Newcastle on their way to their last game of the season against Chelsea on Sunday.
Bosbaas Nuno Espirito Santo was recently questioned about the future of Gibbs-White and insisted that the midfielder will remain happy in the city. “Normally, I think it is not healthy during the competition to speak or approach other players from other teams,” he said.
“As far as Morgan is concerned, I see him happy and I see him working hard. I see him focused. Morgan is one of the players who because we know each other so well and so long, we don't have to speak.
“But I see him well. Just let Morgan do his job and enjoy his football. If he does it, it's great.”
Gibbs-White is one of the nominees for the Premier League Player of the Season Award next to Forest Team-Mate Chris Wood, Alexander Isak van Newcastle, Brentford in front Bryan Mbeumo, Arsenal's Declan Rice and Liverpool-Stars Mohamercha.
Espirito Santo is also nominated for the Seasonal Prize manager, while forest wing Anthony Elanga is ready for the Young Player of the Season Award.
