Pep Guardiola offers mixed Erling Haaland injury update ahead of Real Madrid clash

Manchester City is confronted with the biggest game of their season on February 19, while Pep Guardiola again records Madrid.

The couple was brought together for the fourth consecutive season after he had lost weight last month in the newly made last 16 play -offs.

City gave a 2-1 lead in the first stage when Brahim Diaz and Jude Bellingham took an incredible late 3-2 victory in Manchester.

Guardiola will have to change the tide to make every chance to avoid an early European exit in the midweek and start mounting the injuries.

Defender Manuel Akanji is already excluded after an operation and there is now a doubt about Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian star finally scored his very first goal against Los Blancos in the first stage, but he was injured in the last minutes of the 4-0 Premier League victory of City on Newcastle United on February 15.

The early plates did not look good about the striker, where Haaland held his knee in clear pain, and Guardiola will now wait for updates.

The Catalan coach offered an unclear assessment on full -time, in which city fans are convinced that it will not be absence in the long term, but doubt his participation in Madrid.

“When he was down, everyone was scared. I haven't talked to him yet, or the doctor – but the doctor didn't come up with bad news – so hopefully he's good. Maybe it's not as bad as it could be, “he said.

If Haaland is excluded from the game, Guardiola Omar Marmoush could throw for his first Champions League start at the club, on the back of a hat trick against Newcastle.

Marmoush came from the bank in the first stage and he is also a starting candidate like Jack Grealisk missed because of a muscular injury that was picked up in that game.
