Manchester City is five other teams in a huge fight for the three remaining Champions League spots in the Premier League, and they organize Bournemouth on Tuesday evening

Pep Guardiola admitted on Tuesday that the Manchester City match against Bournemouth is “Massif” after their FA Cup final defeat.

The city has to recover quickly from the pain of their Wembley Defeat against Crystal Palace, with Champions League qualification on the line. The side of Guardiola is in sixth place in the race for a top five place to conquer Champions League place, knowing that victories in their last two league games will be sufficient.

After Bournemouth, City goes to Fulham on the last day of the season, whereby Guardiola acknowledges the size of the task with which he and his players are confronted. Guardiola said: 'It's huge. It is clear.

“Ask the Arsenal, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle or Aston Villa. Of course it is important – huge.

“But now it is not the time to talk to the players and to stand up. Recover, then the game and then we will see how the players recover and go from there.

“Now we have to recover quickly. We are a big club, we are disappointed, but now we don't have much time to recover for an important match against Bournemouth.

“Of course it is better to play against Bournemouth after winning the FA Cup. Wining helps win, but now we have to prove how strong we are with our people.”

Asked about the importance of this summer, in terms of rebuilding his team to make them title challenge again, Guardiola said: “I always say that you have been rebuilt after nine years and we are not the same players or team as when we arrived.

“I think the club has ideas, but from my point of view we now have two huge important games for the future of this club.

“Then we will take a break, the club's World Cup is in that process and we will make decisions that we have to make.”
