Pérez paid €250,000 bonus to each Real Madrid player after eliminating Atlético

Miguel Ángel Díaz reported on the money that the Real Madrid team took home after the qualification for the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

The Real Madrid players left the Metropolitano stage on the 12th for two reasons. The first was visible to everyone. The criminal conversion of Rüdiger and his subsequent iconic celebration could continue to dream of a sixteenth European cup. The second was due to Florentino Pérez, who decided to reward his players with a bonus of € 250,000 each for the qualification for the quarterfinals.

It is unusual for the Real Madrid President, who usually only pays bonuses when the club ultimately wins the title. This time, however, various factors have influenced the Florentino Perez to stretch his budget early. Firstly, the president is aware of the team's efforts this season, with the aim of playing 72 competitive matches if they finally reach the final of the Copa del Rey, Champions League and Club World Cup. Without continuing, Real Madrid won the Champions League last season, he played 13 games and they have already played 12 this season. To win the title in Munich on 31 May, the players should play 17 games.

The second reason is that UEFA has increased the prize money with the new format that the participating teams have been assigned by 21%. Real Madrid fell € 12.5 million for the qualification for the quarterfinals and now has more than € 60 million. If they win, they can earn more than € 100 million.

What still has to be determined is whether that amount of 250,000 euros would be deducted from the bonus set for winning the Champions League or whether it is an extra bonus. The competition, if won, for which the players would receive the biggest bonus this season, would be the Club World Cup, which will be held at the end of the season.
