Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has called on his old rivals to sack their under-fire boss Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs suffered their 11th defeat of the season against the Gunners on Wednesday evening as a Dominic Solanke own goal and a Leandro Trossard strike left them in 13th place.
Tottenham's sheer luck with injuries this season has offered some relief from their dismal run of results, while their Carabao Cup campaign has kept widespread fan unrest at bay.
But Petit, who spent three seasons with Arsenal in north London, believes Spurs should pull the trigger now.
“I hate to say this but you can't sack the players so you have to sack the manager,” he said on talkSPORT. 'The players look so miserable. Madison, son.
'Son was great for five years, but what happened to him? With every game, Spurs are going backwards.”
Postecoglou admitted after the match that his side were not good enough in the first half and took responsibility for their second defeat to their arch-rivals this season.
“We weren't good enough, especially in the first half,” he told TNT Sports. 'We were too passive and let the arsenal determine the game. The second half was better, but not nearly good enough and unacceptable.
'Ultimately I think the responsibility lies with me. That was not our intention when we started the match. The second half was better, but the first half was nowhere near the standards we want to set.
'I'm more interested in how we play our football. We have no choice, we get back to work and prepare for a tough match.
'They hurt me, but they are not acceptable. We have suffered too many losses this year, too many games have eluded us and that has to stop.
'If you give up now there's no point, but it has to stop. At the moment we have a big game on the weekend and that is our focus.
