Petition to have Jon Jones stripped of the UFC heavyweight title attracts thousands of signatures

Jon Jones is still accused of keeping the UFC heavyweight title hostage.

The UFC Heavyweight Division has had two champions for 18 months, but there is no confirmation that they will actually meet in the cage.

However, that does not come to the interim title holder. Aspinall wants to fight Jones, and he has made it clear since he eliminates Sergei Pavlovich to win his belt.

'Bones', on the other hand, has long been negative for the British hunter and every conversation about a unification fight. That position has led Asinall to have broken a UFC record to become the longest reigning interim title holder in history.

Aspinall continues to frustrate the constant waiting – and it is far from alone.

Nearly 20,000 drawing request to strip Jon Jones from his UFC title in the first week

For months, messages on social media from Jones and the UFC have been bombed by fans who demand that the heavyweight titles are united.

Recently Dana White insisted that Jones vs. Aspinall would happen. But that didn't do much to reassure the fans, some of whom have gone one step further than just X.

On May 16, a petition of Change.org was made in which it is called to call the UFC to strip Jones from his title. It was collected nearly 20,000 signatures in just seven days.

“Jon Jones is now the longest reigning champion in the heavyweight history of UFC and has only fought twice in that period,” is the 'issue' section of the petition.

“There is a clear interim champion, Tom Aspinall, who has defended his interim championship belt. Aspinall is ready to fight Jones. Jones refuses to fight against him.

“That is why we, as fans Dana White, must let us know: it's time to strip Jon Jones from the heavyweight title. He clearly has no intentions to fight quickly.”

The support behind the petition shows no sign of delay, with new signatures being added every minute.

However, whether the only attention will get from the UFC and Dana White, can still be seen.

Jon Jones does not seem surprised by calls to strip him

The comments about the petition share a similar sentiment.

“A retired man cannot be the current champion. End of the story.”

“Tom Real Champ”

“Stop the ability of the ability of everyone who fights for the belt. UFC Wake Listen to the people.”

“Time is up Jon.”

“Definitely hold a division. In which other sport can the champion dictate when they compete?”

But Jones would probably claim that they are not because of such comments, as he did when responding to his opponents on social media.

During his recent period of activity on X, 'Bones' pulled the anger of more fans after repeating the probability of his retirement.

In a reaction to a user who said he will be stripped, Jones laughed every suggestion that the belt would have to influence him.

“Dressed? Lol do I come across as the type of person who cares about things like that?”

He has a track record in that respect.

Jones was more than once stripped of the UFC -light heavyweight title, so it might be realistic to expect that the resident of Rochester has a relaxed response to another copy.
