‘Phenomenal’… Ian Garry praises exciting UFC prospect with ‘old school Conor McGregor’ style

Three fights in his UFC career, Mauricio Ruffy is already compared to Conor McGregor.

It is not the first time for the Brazilian striking, which last year shows shades of a karate-based Conor McGregor in his UFC debut. A product of 'The Fighting Nerds', the 28-year-old quickly made work by Jamie Mullarkey in a masterful methodical version.

Mauricio Ruffy succeeded his debut by hitting a sustainable James Llontop for three rounds and recently turning one of the best knockouts of all time – an epic rotating heel ko ko from King Green on UFC 313.

Still unspoilt, Ruffy wins many fans with his unique fighting style, one that reminds Joe Rogan and top well -being -weight candidate Ian Machado Garry of a vintage conor McGregor, who conquered UFC titles from Federweight and Lightweight.

Mauricio Ruffy compared to 'Old-school Conor McGregor'

'The Notorious' went unbeaten in the Octagon on 145 pounds, with a karate style that kept its opponents remotely with footwork and distance management, so that they were eliminated with a varied arsenal of strikes comparable to what Ruffy does now.

Inspired by McGregor's success from a young age, says Garry van Ireland, says Mauricio Ruffy today his favorite UFC hunter.

“His style is phenomenal and I like to look at it. It reminds me a bit of an Old-School Conor McGregor,” said Machado Garry about Ruffy on Instagram.

“His style is beautiful. I think movement is the next level, and I am excited to see how his career is currently unfolding.

“He is definitely one of my favorite hunters in the UFC,” Machado Garry added.

Mauricio Ruffy offers to train with Ian Machado Garry

Machado Garry, arranged #7 in the Welterweight Division, is a great striker in itself. The Irishman is 8-1 in the UFC and has trained with former champion Charles Oliveira and many high-level fighters.

It appears that Ruffy is also a fan of Ian Machado Garry, after he has done his homework during his former fighting. The Fighting Nerd is a sponge to learn and wants to train with Machado Garry in the future.

“It's funny to wake up and watch this video,” Ruffy responded to Garry on Instagram.

'A man I am a big fan [of]That I study and view all your fights.

'To say you admire my style, [it] Makes me very happy.

“I hope to get the chance to train together. God bless!”
