Piers Morgan was in Paris to see the exit of Arsenal from the Champions League by PSG
Piers Morgan has argued for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal to sign an elite striker in the aftermath of their sobering Champions League exit through the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners crossed the channel, knowing that only a victory would do against the French champions after losing the first stage of last week with 1-0 from last week at the Emirates. But they were hit 3-1 in the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening after they could not catch the side of Luis Enrique Kou with a barrage of pressure at the start of the game.
The defeat in Paris means that Arsenal will end the season against the season because they had already fallen at the Premier League -top at the back of Liverpool.
Research into Arsenal's decision to choose to sign a striker in January will only grow in the coming days after their elimination from Europe – and it was immediately cited on social media on Wednesday evening by a disappointed Morgan.
He wrote: “Arteta should stop pretending to be the best team in Europe if we are not even the best team in England … and we will never win big trophies until we sign a good world class striker. Everyone knows this.”
The well -known broadcaster also rubbed the statements of Arteta that the Gunners deserved to claim it because there was no better team this season than Arsenal 'in the Champions League and his words like' delusions'.

The Bullish Arsenal Chief was asked after the game if he felt that the better team lost and answered: “100 percent. I don't think there has been a better team [than Arsenal] In the competition of what I have seen, but we are gone. This competition is about the boxes and in both boxes are the strikers and the keepers and those of them were the best in both games.
“I am so proud of the players. They earn a lot of praise for what they do in the context of the situation and the amount of injuries, probably the worst state that you could arrive here as a team. To get here with a different context and still to do that, it gives me a lot of positives for the future, but tonight I am very upset.”
Arteta even claimed that this was what he was told by the coaches on the PSG bank – only for Enrique to shoot that claim. He said: “I don't agree at all. Mikel Arteta is a great friend, but I don't agree at all. I think they have played in a smart way and they got the game for them at the right time because they played the way they want and like to play.
“But I think we have scored more goals in the two legs than she is and in football that is the most important thing. I have to say, Arsenal has played a great game and we suffered a lot.”
