Real Madrid invested heavily in their backline this summer, but perhaps the cheapest and the signing with the greatest reputation was the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool, after a long-term pursuit. Los Blancos paid € 10 million for his services in June and he signed a six -year contract with the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, it has not been the beginning of life in the Spanish capital that may have been hoped for. Alexander-Arnold had a mixed tournament at the Club World Cup in the United States and offered two assists in his five performances. He missed their 4-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final, but still showed some weaknesses at the back.
After repairing a front cruciate ligament injury, it was expected that Dani Carvajal would be back in the side in the coming months. But after a boring opening match against Osasuna, Alexander-Arnold was put down for the Real Madrid captain in their second game against Real Oviedo, who looked much more at home.
According to Indykaila, there is a chance that Carvajal regularly holds his place in the future.
If that should be the case, this could be the cause of a mistreatment for the former Liverpool man. Indykaila has now caught the offside that Manchester City is watching the situation and could be interested in a shock bid for his services in January.
It would be a big surprise if Real Madrid would consider letting Alexander-Arnold.
