PL icon ‘vetoes Serie A move for Vardy after deal was agreed for Jamie’

Jamie Vardy will not join a Serie A side after their Premier League Great of A Manager has the move Veto, according to a report.

Vardy put an end to his legendary Leicester career at the end of the season, putting his 200th goal for the club in his last game.

The 38-year-old has made it clear that he has no plans to retire and has been associated with a move to Genoa in recent weeks.

However, the Italian media claim that there will be no movement with the manager of the club who is stepping in is to close it.

The boss of Genoa is Arsenal Icon Patrick Vieira, an important member of the historic 'Invincibles' side of 2004.

And La Repubblica claims that Vardy was approaching a switch to Genoa after the expiry of his fox contract.

They say that this will not happen with Vieira who is not convinced by the former striker of England and to cancel the move.

Genoa Sporting Director Flavio Ricciardella worked on the deal with Vardy with sponsors because of his wage with the Serie A -side.

Vardy probably seems to continue his career in Scotland with Rangers who lead the race for his signature.

Como and Nottingham Forest are also linked to the Premier League veteran, who won 26 caps for England.

After he ended his gaming career in Man City, Vieira's first management post was in New York City FC. The Major League Soccer Side is part of the Stadsvoetbalgroep founded by Man City owner Sheikh Mansour.

Vieira won many admirers during his two and a half years Stint with NYCFC, accompanied by the club of 17th in 2015 to fourth place in his first season and then second the following year.

The Arsenal 'Invincible' was even tipped to replace Arsene Wenger when the boss of the Gunners left the Emirates in 2018.

Instead, Vieira went to Ligue 1 Club Nice, where during his two full seasons he achieved the seventh and fifth placed Finishes that Crystal Palace achieved to make him the successor to Roy Hodgson in 2021.

His Stint in Selhurst Park started well when he led the Eagles to a 12th placed finish in his first season and praised for an attacking style.

Things, however, fell sharply in his second season and he was fired after a point of 12 games without a victory with the club that scored only 21 goals in 27 games.

Vieira then only served a year of a three -year -old deal in Strasbourg before he went back and took his position in Genoa four months later.
