Liverpool collapsed from the Champions League after losing 4-1 on penalties against PSG after a 1-1 total draw in their last 16-drawing game on Tuesday evening.
After winning the first stage last week with 1-0, Liverpool clear started, but was fed back in the 12th minute when Ousmane Dembele finished a quick break to bring PSG level into the draw.
There were no further goals in a normal time or extra time and penalties were needed to separate the two parties.
Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones had saved their fines by Gianluigi Donnarumma, and it was left to wish Doue to hit the winning spot kick for the visitors.
But who fell on a dramatic night in Anfield?
Lewis Steele from Mail Sport was present to assess the players of both teams …
LIVERPOOL
Alisson 7.5 – Last week was the best performance of his life to use his words. This week was another great display, making it two huge stops to deny Dembele and Barcola in the first half with 2-0.
Trent Alexander-Arnold 7 almost made a tie-defined error when he was caught over playing in the middle. That was the only mistake when he stopped Kvaratskhelia and dictated the game from midfield.
Ibrahima Konate 7 – will be stripped not to do better with Dembele's goal, but in reality there was not much that he could have done to avoid it. Played well differently than that.
Virgil van Dijk 7 – Captain Fantastic often becomes unrecognizable in these games because he is always in the right place at the right time and looks like he never breaks sweat.
Andy Robertson 6 – could he have done better to deal with Barcola for PSG's early goal? Some fans thought so. I'm good up and down on the left.
Ryan Gravenberch 6.5 – A huge block to deny Kvaratskhelia in the first half and the defense was well screened.
Alexis Mac Allister 6.5 – Arm to lose the ball and admit a huge opportunity in the first half, but was always willing to contribute to the structure and never stopped running.
Mohamed Salah 7 – felt like he was being abandoned by attacking colleagues Jota and Diaz. Salah was head of the maker, but the end product of teammates was missing. The Egyptian saw two enormous opportunities beg in the first half.
Dominik Szoboszlai 6 – Start the press and was like a result over PSG in the early stages when they couldn't get out of it. Had no influence on the game how he wanted the ball.
Luis Diaz 6 – A willing runner who caused problems for the French side all night, but was missing.
Diogo Jota 6 – A big call to start Jota on Nunez and although he contributed much of the ball, this was not Jota's Night in possession.
Replacement
Darwin Nunez (for Jota 73min) – 6
Jarell Quansah (for Alexander -Arnold, 73min) – 6
Curtis Jones (for Mac Allister, 90min) – 6
Cody Gakpo (for Diaz, 101min) – 6
Harvey Elliott (for Szoboszlai, 106min) – NA
Wataru Endo (for Konate, 111min) – NA
Subs not used: Jaros, Kelleher, Chiesa, Tsimikas, McConnell.
Manager
Arne Slot 7 – GamePlan was in order and Liverpool came out. Would finish desired better from his attackers.
PSG
Gianluigi Donnarumma 9 (MOTM) – Last week mocked for his Poppadom -Pols in the Parc des Princes for the deceased winner of Liverpool, but the Italian brought an insured performance and ordered crossing here. The penalties of Nunez and Jones save in style. Man of the competition.
Achraf Hakimi 6 – The weakest of the PSG seemed four in terms of the build -up game, but threatened when he was a license to move forward.
Marquinhos 7 (booked) – I am better everywhere from Jota and the captain guided PSG through what a composed version had to be.
Willian Pacho 8 – A monstrous defender who makes an impression after his summer movement of Eintracht Frankfurt. At the age of 23 it feels like he will have a top career.
Nuno Mendes 8 – made a number of huge interventions to thwart Salah, in particular a block at four minutes. He also started the attack for the goal and was an insured presence on the ball.
Joao Neves 8 – A pleasure to look at. He and Vitinha use the ball so efficiently.
Vitinha 8.5 – Never stopped running and making itself available for the ball. An incredible achievement.
Fabian Ruiz 8 – The man who starts the press. Looks a giant on the PSG midfield because it is much larger than the diminutive duo next to him. Former Napoli -man has submitted a major defensive shift.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia 7 – Clearly a special player and had his moments in this game, such as some beautiful steps, but did not have the grip he did last week.
Ousmane Dembele 7.5 – got his goal with an easy finish, but nothing else was simple. A stylish run and give and go with Barcola. Should have made the score on 2-0, just after half an hour.
Bradley Barcola 7.5 – The best of the attackers of PSG but tired after the break. A nice assist for the goal, but has to beat Alisson when he passed on the goal of bringing the score to 2-0. Bad luck.

Manager
Luis Enrique 7 – puts his team brilliant. They defended firmness and attacked with style.
Referee
Istvan Kovacs (Romania) 6 – a few controversial decisions but generally had control.
