Pogba watches Miami Heat with Messi’s closest colleague
The former Manchester United midfielder watched the Miami Heat with Messi's bodyguard.
Paul Pogba was spotted during the Miami Heat's 123-118 win over the Dallas Mavericks at the Kayesa Center. The former Manchester United midfielder's presence at the match sparked interest after he was spotted with Yassine Chueko, the private bodyguard of Inter Miami striker Lionel Messi.
Pogba's future has recently come under scrutiny after he was at Inter Miami's Chase Stadium watching the MLS side during their ultimately unsuccessful play-off campaign. The player's future at Juventus appears to be all but over and he has been heavily linked with a move to Miami, with the latest public appearance only fueling the rumours.
He has been training in Miami and reports suggest that several league clubs have entered Pogba on their Discovery Lists, with the player being the first to reject if he expresses an interest in playing in the North American league.
Why was Pogba banned from football?
A doping ban has kept Pogba out of football since February after he tested positive for a banned substance after the Udinese-Juventus match on August 20.
“I have been informed today of the decision of the Tribunale Nazionale Anti-Doping and am of the opinion that the judgment is incorrect. “I am sad, shocked and heartbroken that everything I have built during my professional playing career has been taken away from me,” Pogba said in a statement when the verdict was made public.
“When I am free from legal restrictions the whole story will become clear, but I have never knowingly used supplements that violate anti-doping rules.”
Pogba was originally given a four-year sentence without playing, but saw his sentence reduced to 18 months, meaning he can train in January and return to the field in March 2025.
