Ange Postecoglou hopes that Tottenham can spoil Liverpool's potential Premier League-Titelfeest on Sunday and it says he is not thinking of protecting players in the semi-final of the Europa League.
Spurs is 16th in the Premier League table after a gloomy campaign, so that they set on course for their worse top finish because they were relegated in the 22nd in 1977-78.
Postecoglou is generally expected to leave the club at the end of the season, with the only thing that could be of leadership as European glory.
Spurs host Bodo/shines in the first stage of their Europa League semi-final draw on Thursday, but before that time they visit a Liverpool team looking for a point to win the title.
Postecoglou will not look beyond Sunday's trip to Anfield and is determined to frustrate the club that he grew up supported from far away.
“It's not just about coming through undamaged, you want to continue with the top team well,” Postecoglou told reporters.
“I think, regardless of what is on the horizon, that is the primary importance.”
Asked if his youth sympathies for Liverpool influenced the game, he said: “No, size. I am an almost 60-year-old adult, I went beyond the in love with my childhood, so it has no impact.
“I have a great admiration for the football club. Yes, I supported it when I was younger, but that was 50 years ago, so we have gone well and really.
“You want to go there and compete against a very good side and compete well.”

Postecoglou also confirmed that Captain Son Heung-Min will be on Sunday's game, with a foot injury that has let him miss the last three games of Spurs.
But the South Korea star is expected to recover on time to Bodo/Glimt.
“Squad Wise, there is no change,” said Postecoglou. “In terms of rehabilitation, Sonny is the only one who is going through that process. He improves, but he is not ready for Sunday.
“Again, with the program that we have, is clearly a big night for us on Thursday, so it will be a matter of playing a few who need the game and others may need less exposure.”
