Ange Postecoglou believes football management is now “harder than any job”, with the Tottenham boss claiming it is even harder than the premiership.
There have already been four managerial casualties in the Premier League before Christmas, with Gary O'Neil and Russell Martin leaving Wolves and Southampton respectively earlier this week.
Martin was sacked after the Saints' 5-0 home defeat to Postecoglou's Tottenham, just over six months after leading them back to the top flight.
Steve Cooper also spent just five months at newly promoted Leicester City, while Erik ten Hag's bittersweet spell at Manchester United also comes to an end this season.
Postecoglou has also come under scrutiny following Tottenham's mixed start to the season, and the Australian believes the treatment towards him and his colleagues has “crossed that line”.
'Is there a right way? [of sacking a manager]? “I really don't know,” he said. 'We have lost all kinds of respect in our society where boys have a job and put up names of who is going to replace him while they are still working.
“We've crossed that line now. You can do it however you want and no one will say anything about the fact that a man who I, whether it's Russell or Gary, has done everything 24/7, in their power… .It's not for lack of trying.
“As a society, we are so quick to throw people in the trash and move on very quickly, without thinking or worrying about it.

“I don't know if there's a right or best way to deal with it. That's why I left before it ever happened to me. I'm kind of jumping out before that comes my way, but we've crossed that line now. ” , and I think it's open.
“I hear people say 'Managers have always been fired', but I think it's gone beyond forgetting there's a human involved. This job is now the hardest job in any industry.”
Postecoglou even went so far as to say that football managers have a harder time than the Prime Minister.
When pressed, the Tottenham boss replied: 'Yes, come on. He has elections every few years, I have one every weekend. We have elections every weekend and I get voted in or out.
“This is harder than any job because, as I said, the tenure and longevity of this role means you go in. There are very few who will come out without scars.”
