Thomas Frank insists that Ange Postecoglou will forever be a legend in Tottenham and is planning to build on the foundation he has placed in the club.
Postecoglou was rejected as Spurs boss despite the supervision of a memorable Europa League triumph with a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the final of last month in Bilbao.
The success of Tottenham in Europe was in stark contrast to their sad domestic campaign, making them 17th in the Premier League.
Consequently, Frank was persuaded to move London from Brentford to replace Postecoglou, but De Dane wanted to pay tribute to his predecessor.
Speaking with the official website of Spurs, he said: “Huge congratulations to the club, to the team (for the Europa League triumph).
“Huge congratulations to Ange – I think Ange has done something special. He will be a legend forever in Tottenham.
“It is important to understand that we are all on the shoulders of others. I am going into the built foundation and his coaching staff, and I am very modest about that. I will do my utmost to continue the great work he has.
“The feeling, the excitement, the joy and happiness in the faces of the fans, the photos were 'wow'.
“Hopefully we can create more of those moments. That will be the ultimate dream: to do that and to build on it.”

Frank accepted that there would be “UPS and Downs” in the coming campaign, but it is hopeful that more success can be delivered in the future.
He added: “There will be ups and downs – at the moment it is a fairy tale. Everyone is happy, the sun is shining, it's fantastic.
“We have not played a game yet. Hopefully we will win a lot. We will work very hard every day to ensure that we make so many magical moments for the fans and put them together and at the end of the season we had a very good season.”
