Barcelona takes on Girona (16:15 CEST) at home in the second game of a marathon run of competitions, hot of the heels of their 3-0 win over Girona. For many, the big question is how much Hansi Flick will rotate his side against a Girona team, with the return leg of the Copa del Rey Semi-Final against Atletico Madrid (4-4 on aggregated) on Wednesday evening.
Before the game, Flick Non-Committal was about whether he would make changes, and praised Lamine Yamal's ability to manage his condition when he was asked if he would rest. Sport believes that it will be a completely strong range of Flick in front, but further back there will be opportunities for Fermin Lopez, Eric Garcia and Hector Fort.
MD agrees that Ronald Araujo will also return to action instead of Inigo Martinez, but believe that Gavi will play deeper alongside Pedri instead of Garcia. They also think that Kounde will continue his ruthless schedule. Flick is now without Dani Olmo after he had been excluded in the coming weeks and joined Andreas Christensen, Marc Bernal, Marc Casado and Marc-Andre ter Stegen on the sidelines.
Michel Sanchez has a number of his own injury problems to tackle, such as Bryan Gil, Ivan Martin, Bojan Miovski and Abel Ruiz will miss the game. Donny van de Beek is also suspended for the Montjuic collision. It seems that Arthur Melo will start against his former club, and Arnaut Danjuma will lead the border.
The most important doubt is about Oriol Romeu, who could play against his parent club, and possibly for Yangel Herrera, who will return this week from the Venezuela obligation. Last season Girona Barcelona saw twice beating 4-2, but the Blaugrana were comfortable with 4-1 winners in September in Montilivi. The Blaugrana is looking for a ninth consecutive victory, while Michel will be desperate to make a six-game Winless Streak that has looked down at the Catalan side, with seven points that separate them from the drop zone.
