Saturday's draw between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid has opened the door for Barcelona, who will close the gap with the victory in Seville. The Catalans are currently five points away from the top of the La Liga table, but a victory reduces that shortage to two.
Barcelona wants to continue their very strong start until 2025, but with only a three -day turnaround of the Copa del Rey quarterfinals victory in Valencia, it is expected that Hansi Flick will make changes. According to Sport, it is expected that four players who have missed a starting role at the Mestalla in the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan recalled.
In defense, it is expected that the regulars of Jules Kounde, Pau Cubarsi and Alejandro Balde will be accompanied by Ronald Araujo, which would mean that Eric Garcia falls to the couch despite an impressive representation against Valencia. In midfield, two potential changes Marc Casado and GAVI Die would have missed the game of Thursday as precautionary measures after last weekend's main injury in the line-up, with Frenkie de Jong and Fermin Lopez who made a seat.
The final change would attack, which is expected to replace Robert Lewandowski Ferran Torres, who scored a hat trick against his former club in the midweek.
Sevilla is unbeaten in their last four games, and they will hope to continue that run on Sunday. Head coach Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta must be forced into two changes for the match against Barcelona, with Jose Angel Carmona (suspended) and Albert Sambi Lokonga (injured) – their replacements are expected to be Juanlu Sanchez and Lucien Agoume. Another planned change would see Kike Salas for Adria Pedrosa on the left.
Barcelona has an excellent record against Sevilla in recent years, with their last La Liga defeat that will return in 2015. They have won their last seven games against Los Nervionsenses, and the goal will be to continue to eight to eight of eight play on Sunday evening.
