Arda Guler could be offered a Premier League exexit route from Real Madrid this summer.
The Turkey International was in the center of the headlines in recent weeks after a bizarre fight for Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai about international service.
However, his performance in the field in Madrid does not, however, no impact as part of the mixed second season in the Spanish capital.
Only three goals that have been scored in all competitions so far are half of the figure he managed in 2023/24 and the 20-year-old only started seven La Liga in 2024/25.
Carlo Ancelotti remains uncertain about his best position, but Guler himself is full of confidence and explains in a recent interview that he has no doubt about his ability to succeed in Madrid.
The possibility of a loan in 2025/26 is on the table, where Ancelotti wants to give him some first team action elsewhere, to prevent career stagnation.
Aston Villa Sporting Director Monchi has admitted that the Premier League club is interested in him, in which the 56-year-old indicates that he explored Guler during his previous role at Sevilla.
“I know him well because he is a player whose career in Turkey was followed by every sports director,” according to reports from Marca.
“He is a player who met a number of requirements and could be attractive for Aston Villa because we were looking for players in that position.
“It is not the same position as Marco Asensio, but we are more or less looking for that profile between the lines – which can play like a 10 – and even play on the outside while entering.
“I think he is a player with very good technical skills, and he has personality; he shows it when he plays for the national team. He takes on a role that is not associated with his age.”
Villa still has to make a decision about permanent offers for in-form Loan Duo Asensio and Marcus Rashford and a repeated UEFA Champions League qualification would give their ability to attract Guler, a boost.
