Premier League giants ‘rival Arsenal in race for Viktor Gyokeres’

Allegedly, Chelsea hopes to ruin the search from Arsenal for a striker by going after one of their top goals: Viktor Gyokees.

The blues reportedly made contact with the Portuguese club about the blazing hot, while Juventus is also said to pop up their pursuit.

Gyokeres is in sparkling form this season and has scored 54 goals in 52 games to help retain their league title – and making the backlog of 43 look compared to 43 look.

Sporting only lets their husbands go for a fee between £ 55 million and £ 70 million, depending on which reports you believe, but that is a goodwill reduction of his release clause of £ 85 million.

Now Chelsea and Juventus want part of the action, according to the Portuguese Outlet record.

That will concern Arsenal, because Mikel Arteta has admitted that one of their priorities should be a 'target threat' for this summer.

They have considerably impeded injuries, but no person scored more than the total of Kai Havertz of 15 this campaign.

Arsenal would hope that Gyokeres, who made an impression on Coventry in the championship before he came to Sporting, could lead a serious title challenge.

It is crucial that he is used to playing many games-the 26-year-old has made 50 performances or more in each of his last three seasons.

A clean injury record and an eye for goal are crucial, whatever club he chooses, with Chelsea and Juventus that are also demanded for requirements in the Champions League.

Arsenal are realists and have thrown their eyes over several options in case their pursuit of gyokeres falls on deaf ears.

Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig has been cited as an option and according to Marca they lead the race to sign Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, although the Spaniard does not want to lose him.

Alvarez came to Atletico last summer after having spent two seasons in the Etihad Stadium and produced stunning figures: 29 goals and seven assists.

During those two seasons in England, Alvarez scored 36 goals in 103 performances and won six trophies with City, including two Premier League titles and one Champions League.

Alvarez wrote a six -year contract with Atletico when he arrived from the city in a transfer deal worth £ 81 million last August.

Since then his value has probably increased, which means that he could be cheaper to acquire than Gyokees or Sesko.

Despite maintaining their position as the second best team in England for a third year in a row, Arsenal scored considerably fewer goals during the season.

The men of Arteta yielded 69 times in their 38 league matches (1.81 goals per match), with 88 (2.32 per match) and 91 (2.39 per match) in the previous two campaigns.

No Arsenal player achieved double digits for Premier League goals in 2024-25, with Havertz at the front with only nine.

Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard each recorded eight, while improvised striker Mikel Merino ended the season with seven.
