Each team plays three games and will not be confronted with the same opposition more than once.

The winner of a competition is awarded three points. If a competition is drawn, both clubs are awarded one point.

The club with the highest number of points at the end of the tournament is considered the Premier League Summer Series winner.

If two or more clubs have the same number of points, their position in the table must be determined on the basis of target difference.

If the target difference is also the same, the higher placed club is the one who has scored the most goals in the tournament.

If the clubs cannot be separated by points, target difference or scored goals, the higher placed club will be the one who has won more points in games between those clubs.

Where are the matches being played?

The Premier League Summer Series takes place on the east coast of the United States in New Jersey, Chicago and Atlanta. The four teams all play one fixture in every city.

The first round of competitions takes place in the 82,500 capacity with Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, the home of NFL-Santen The New York Jets and New York Giants.

The clubs will then travel to Chicago and play in Soldier Field, where MLS Club Chicago Fire and NFL Team Chicago Bears play.

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta will organize the last two races under the retractable roof.
