President Donald Trump announces UFC title fight at White House as part of national celebration

President Donald Trump wants Dana White to build a UFC atrache on the Wittehuis lawn.

The UFC is in many places since its foundation in 1993. From his debut show in Denver, Colorado, to his recent arrival in countries such as Azerbaijan, Las Vegas is the most common stop for the most important promotion, whether T-Mobile Arena or its cost-effective UFC Apex is.

'Sphere' opened its doors last year for the UFC at NOCHE UFC or UFC 306 and unraveled new possibilities where the UFC could go. The Las Vegas atmosphere was the most expensive location of the UFC for an event, with more than $ 20 million in production costs.

On the way to the second half of 2025, it seems that the White House has just opened as a location for a UFC fight.

President Donald Trump says the UFC event is coming to the White House

For a long time friends with UFC CEO Dana White, Donald Trump has been a fan of MMA for years. The president even ran his own promotion for a while.

Less than a month after attending UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey, President Trump has announced that the White House will play host for a UFC event. It will probably fall in a year from now on, July 4, 2026, to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States.

“We're going to have a UFC fight,” Trump said on Thursday during a rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

'Think of this on the site of the White House. We have a lot of land there. We are going to build a little, they are not, Dana is going to do it …

“Dana is great,” Trump said about the UFC boss.

“One of his kind. Is a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight, such as 25,000 people.

“We will also do that as part of 250. We are going to have some incredible events, some professional events, some amateur events, but the UFC fight will be a big problem,” said Trump.

There is now only one American champion in the UFC

In 2016, the same year that Donald Trump became president for the first time, there were 14 champions from the United States.

Almost ten years later there are currently no American champions in the men's divisions after last month of Jon Jones' UFC pension.

Kayla Harrison from Ohio is the only American UFC champion that is still standing. A double Olympic gold medal winner in Judo and PFL Lightweight Champion, Harrison conquered a brutal weight reduction and Julianna Pena submitted to win the Bantamweight for women in the Co-Main event of UFC 316.

After the fight, Harrison insured a super fight with the greatest female hunter of all time, Amanda Nunes, and made national headlines when she wrapped her UFC belt around President Trump Cageside.

Perhaps the greatest fight in the MMA history of women, Harrison vs. Nunes can be a possibility for a UFC event in the White House.
