Price tag for Real Madrid and Manchester City target could rise to €40m

Real Madrid have joined the list of sides eyeing a deal for Uzbek international Abdukodir Khusanov, but the price for the Ligue 1 centre-back is rising. Los Blancos have reportedly made contacts with Khusanov's agents.

This is evident from a recent report from Santi Aouna, who first revealed Real Madrid's interest in Khusanov, which has since been confirmed by Marca and Diario AS. The former reports that they are keeping an eye on the RC Lens defender, with a deal in the offing for around twenty million euros.

However, The Athletic says it could be closer to double that price to sign him from Lens. Manchester City have also opened talks with his camp as they add Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United to his list of suitors. According to their information, Lens will ask around €40 million for his signature.

Khusanov is under contract until 2027 and while they are open to a sale of their latest starlet, they could demand a decent fee for him. Real Madrid showed with Leny Yoro last summer that they only pay what they think a player is worth, and that they are prepared to miss out on the price if Premier League clubs outbid them.
