Prosecutor’s Office to appeal Dani Alves verdict

Last week it was announced that former Barcelona and Sevilla player Dani Alves had been successful in addressing his rape order. It comes after he was originally found guilty in February 2024, which was originally arrested and charged 13 months earlier after an alleged incident that took place in a nightclub in the capital of Catalonia.

Alves celebrated the verdict, which was a unanimous acquittal, but the prosecutor certainly did not. And neither of them has the office of the public prosecutor, who have now been lodged to appeal against the decision made last week, as reported by relevant.

According to the report, the office of the public prosecutor has formalized the announcement of a appeal for the Civil and Criminal Law Chamber of the Supreme Court of Catalonia (TSJC), which will be presented to the public prosecutor of the Supreme Court. The appeal will be based on the fact that the punishment of the TSJC, which has withdrawn the imprisonment of Alves, violates constitutional regulations and principles of the Criminal Code.

Alves has regularly refused all charges against him in the last two years, and he will continue to do this during this professional process. He was recently charged by former club Pumas because of his conviction, which related to non-compliance with the code of conduct in his contract, but now that he has been acquitted, it is still to be seen how that situation develops.

The process of this attraction is probably another long one, which means that Alves may not be able to think completely about what is coming for him for a while. It is still to be seen what statement is made by the office of the public prosecutor of the Supreme Court when the time comes, but for now it is expected that there will not be much movement for the time being.
