PSG are scouring the Greater Paris region to secure a plot of land that will house their future stadium. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently confirmed his intention to leave the 48,500-seat Parc des Princes amid a standoff with the city of Paris, the site's owner, which is reluctant to give PSG's historic home to the club to sell. The Ligue 1 champions believe that the future of PSG no longer goes hand in hand with Parc des Princes, whose capacity no longer matches the club's ambitions.
Le Parisien reports this Wednesday that PSG CEO Victoriano Melero and the head of the club's real estate department, Nicolas Ramillon, toured the abandoned Ris-Orangis circuit. The town of Ris-Orangis is located approximately 23 km south of central Paris. The abandoned circuit and its grounds cover an area of 100 hectares, which would be sufficient to meet PSG's needs.
Not only do Les Parisiens want to build a state-of-the-art stadium from scratch – whose capacity should range from 60,000 to 90,000 – they also plan to create a 'PSG village' with shops, hotels, restaurants, offices and cars. parks around the ground. The outlet understands that PSG plan to make a decision on their new home as early as the first weeks of 2025.
