Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was questioned about his future only a few minutes after winning the UEFA Champions League.
The Italian stop had played a leading role to get PSG to the final in Munich. He kept two penalties outside in a shootout victory in Liverpool in the round of 16, before he made 14 savees to help PSG to get past two English teams in Aston Villa and Arsenal.
But the majority of the promotion on Saturday evening was around the goal on the other side of the Allianz Arena to Donnarumma, because PSG Inter Milan hit 5-0 to include the biggest victory margin in the last history of the Champions League.
After two goals from Desire Doue Plus further strikes by Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu Inter had brought in the sword, Donnarumma told Sky Italia on the field: 'New deal or departure? We will see what happens … I don't know.
'It's time to enjoy this magical season now. I'm going on vacation and then we'll see. '
That magical season ended with PSG who completed a remarkable Treble by adding European glory to their domestic triumphs in Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.
Donnarumma has now won a total of 10 trophies in his four seasons as a PSG player, but it is unclear whether he will still be at the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
His current contract runs until June 2026 and PSG would like to extend it.
But Manchester City is reported on a large scale that he takes him to the Premier League, in which Pep Guardiola is known as admirer of his bravery, both as a shot stopper and a ball player.
If a new contract cannot be agreed this summer, it is thought that PSG could consider selling Donnarumma to prevent him from losing it on a free transfer next year.
But the prospect of losing such an elite player for free can perhaps be softened by the fact that he arrived without a transfer costs when he came to PSG of AC Milan in June 2021.
