Atalanta president Antonio Percassi has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain has made a failed move for breathola lookman during last summer's transfer window.
Speaking at a press conference transcribed by L'équipe, Percassi explained that the interest of PSG was in the aftermath of Lookman's Europa League Final Hat-Trick against Bayer Leverkusen. “The Pact with Lookman was made a year ago, when we refused an offer of € 20 million from PSG,” said the Italian.
According to Percassi, Atalanta promised the 27-year-old Nigeria International that he could leave in 2025 for a “very high level club” on condition that it was not in the Serie A. However, the current preference destination of Lookman seems to be Inter Milan, with whom he reportedly reached an agreement.
However, that movement is far from certain. Percassi underlined that Atalanta still controls the future of the attacker, and confirmed that the club issues the newest range of Inter – worth € 45 million including bonuses – in the weekend.
Lookman has publicly expressed his wish to leave Bergamo this summer, but with the interest of PSG now historical and the bids of Inter rejected, his next destination remains unclear.gffn | George Boxall
