According to a report from L'Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain has opened talks to sign Bournemouth centre-back Ilya Zabarnyi, 22.
Zabarnyi has become Bournemouth's first-choice back and has impressed since joining the Premier League club from Dynamo Kiev in the summer of 2023. His performances have caught the attention of PSG, who could make a move in January. They are aware that Marquinhos could leave the club in the near future amid interest from Saudi Arabia, and are planning ahead. Additional space would also be created by the touted departure of Milan Skriniar.
PSG are big admirers of the Ukraine international and have even opened talks to sign him. However, the presence of Russian international Matvei Safonov could throw a spanner in the works due to Ukraine's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. However, L'Équipe adds that the positions of the two players in question are not known. Zabarnyi's contract with Bournemouth runs until 2029.
