PSG star Kvaratskhelia sends clear message to Liverpool with bold prediction

Paris Saint-Germain Pelenmaker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia wants to hand over another dose of disappointment to Liverpool next week in the second stage of their Champions League Last-16 collision.

The Georgian midfielder turned the chance to join the Reds in the summer – and six months later he chose to exchange Napoli for the French capital.

Kvaratskhelia was excellent when PSG met the men of Arne Slot in Paris last week – but came across the excellent keeper Allison van Liverpool, who made a large number of top edges.

Liverpool then took an invaluable 1-0 victory through the late goal of Harvey Elliott and are now favorites to continue to the last 16 even though they are dominated by their Premier League opponents.

But Kvaratskhelia insists that the Parisians go to Anfield on Tuesday for the second stage full of optimism. He said: “We had so many opportunities to score in the first game and were the better team.

“It was disappointing to lose, but we have to prepare ourselves well for the second game. Liverpool is a good team and Anfield is a good ground for them. But we can take a lot of confidence from the way we played and if we are the same in the second game, I think we will score the goals we need.”

Kvaratskhelia has attracted the attention for PSG since they came to them from Naples in January. So far he has scored twice and helped three in 11 games.

His manager Luis Enrique agreed with the idea that PSG can be confident to go into the game in Anfield, and insists on that his side will set up in exactly the same way after he has had so much joy on the ball.

He said after the game: “We have nothing to lose if we succeed in repeating in the same way as we played today. It will be very aggressive in terms of the atmosphere in their stadium. We are, however, just a team that has nothing to lose. We go to Liverpool and play exactly as we did today.

“Today it was not about details, Alisson had a great game. They only play against us because we didn't let them play.

“In the first five minutes they played better than we did, but only for that. Then it was all about PSG. Nobody saw something else tonight. One team was above the other, we all saw that. Is the result fair? No, the result is not fair.”
