PSV Eindhoven -Baas Peter Bosz has accused his own players of 'non -re -respecting' Liverpool during their Champions League collision on Wednesday.
Eindhoven beat Liverpool at home 3-2 and came twice from behind to pick up an important victory over a rotated Reds side. Liverpool had already booked their place in their last 16 by winning their previous seven games, while the victory for Eindhoven means that they will be one of the eight sides in the play-offs of the knockout phase.
Liverpool ended the game with ten men after Amara Nallo was sent during his debut and Eindhoven saw the game out by holding possession with some flashy steps. Bosz, however, was not impressed by the antics of his party.
“I thought it was terrible,” he said in his press conference after the game. “It really annoys me. It is out of place, they should not do that. It was a kind of rondo that they played there, with a rear heel and a no-look pass.
“If I had been in that position, I would have seen them under the knees. You just shouldn't do that. I don't think it's respectful for the opponent. I haven't talked about it yet, but I will.
“I like to entertain the crowd, but in a different way. I think we would have entertained the crowd earlier without all the madness.” Although Liverpool had the majority of their top stars, Bosz was happy with the comeback victory, for his part.
“I watched it with great pleasure,” he added. “I understand very well that this was not the best Liverpool team, but there was still a lot of quality on the field. We tried to play our best football against it.
“Hopefully we are successful. Not everything went well, I also saw enough things that had to be improved. But they were beautiful goals, those of Johan [Bakayoko]But also those of Ismael [Saibari]And we have achieved a good victory. “
It was also the first time that Eindhoven has ever defeated Liverpool in a competitive fixture, with the Reds collected five wins and one draw in their last six meetings. Eindhoven will now be confronted with Feyenoord or Juventus in the play-offs.
The person who wins that collision takes on Arsenal of Inter Milan in the last 16. Liverpool will meanwhile meet in the round of 16 Monaco, Brest, Paris Saint-Germain or Benfica.
