PSV Eindhoven -Manager Peter Bosz gave a destructive public reprimand to his players for their 'disrespectful' actions against Liverpool.
The Dutch champions ended the perfect run of the Reds in the competition with a 3-2 victory that confirmed their place in the play-off round. Arne Slot turned his silk, with the Anfield club already assured of their place in the last 16.
PSV supported their opponents twice, but fought back to the level for the break, before taking the winner in the break.
Faced with a weakened Liverpool team, the cause of the home team helped enormously and their faith was further strengthened by the second half of Debutant Amara Nallo. PSV then saw the victory by retaining possession with some flashy steps.
And this anger Bosz, who did not stop his condemnation of the antics after the game.
“I thought it was terrible,” he said. “It really annoys me. It is out of place, they should not do that. It was a kind of rondo that they played there, with a rear heel and a no-look pass.
'If I had been to that position, I would have seen them under the knees. You just shouldn't do that. I don't think it's respectful for the opponent. I haven't talked about it yet, but I will do that.
'I like to entertain the crowd, but in a different way. I think we would have entertained the crowd earlier without all the madness. '
PSV ended the competition phase in 14th place and will be confronted with arch rivals Feyenoord or Juventus for a place in the last 16.
Bosz acknowledged that the Liverpool team that they encountered was one of the best talents too short, but he insisted that he was happy with the comeback victory.
“I watched it with great pleasure,” he added. 'I understand very well that it was not the best Liverpool team, but there was still a lot of quality on the field. We have tried to play our best football against that.
“Hopefully we are successful. Not everything went well, I also saw enough things that should be improved. But they were beautiful goals, those of Johan [Bakayoko]But also those of Ismael [Saibari]And we have achieved a good victory. '
Despite their first defeat of the Champions League campaign, the side of Slot ended the competition phase on top of the 36-team table. They will meet PSG, Monaco, Brest or Benfica in the next round.
