Eredivisie -Champions PSV Eindhoven reportedly gave star Ivan Perisic an ultimatum to decide on his future.
The former finalist of World Cup signed a one -year contract in Eindhoven and arrived in September 2024 on a free transfer. After a spectacular end of the season, in which Perisic scored seven goals and gave three assists in the last eight competition matches, PSV won the Dutch Eredivisie after coming up with a 9-point shortage of Ajax.
Perisic was delighted after winning his fourth league title, but the 36-year-old remained without obligation for future plans. “We will see it. I will decide that with my family,” Perisic said after the title-Klinching 3-1 win over Sparta Rotterdam in May.
After the season, rumors arose that FC Barcelona focused their eyes on the Croatian veteran. Manager Hans-Dieter Flick is said to be a “big fan” of Perisic, who scored 16 goals and provided nine assists in 35 games in all competitions.
While PSV is waiting for Perisic's decision, the 26 times Dutch champions reportedly gave the Croatian an ultimatum to decide on his future. The Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reports that Perisic will have until 30 June to decide whether he will stay in Eindhoven or leave the club after a season.
Gabriel Sans from Mundo Deportivo also reported that Perisic would accept a lower salary to play for FC Barcelona.
