PSV overturn deficit to knock Juventus out in extra-time

An energetic opening 20 minutes, both in the field and in the stands, missed a real chance for both sides, because the visitors were challenging in the face of an early PSV -Blitz for a typical raw Philips stadium -Modigte.

With both keepers enjoyed a comfortable start to the night, it was PSV's Walter Benitez who was first taken into action, while the deflected shot of Andrea Cambiaso forced the Argentian into a comfortable rescue.

It would turn out to be the only shot on the goal of the first half, with Thiago Motta undoubtedly the happier of the two managers, because his side tempted the opportunity and managed the tie excellently.

After only managing four shots in the first period, PSV rattled in two attempts within three minutes after the restart, because first Ivan Perisic tried a repeat of his goal in the first stage, but was thwarted by Michele di Gregorio before Noa Long in in The side shot -network shot from a sleek angle.

In an exciting opening of 10 minutes to the second half, Randal Kolo Muani Juve's first real chance of the game, before Perisic opened the score with a moment of real quality.

For a long time, the movement started by dripping in from the left and fizzing a ball into the Croatian, and the perfect first touch of the former Interman set up the ball to get hard and low about the goalkeeper and in the bottom corner.

Juventus was again called upon to survive a PSV attack and again found a way to survive, because Federico Gatti was twice to hand to keep the aggregated score, in particular a goalbound Luuk de Jong -header away keep.

That rear skin action would look even more important shortly thereafter, while Timothy Weah beat half volley off the edge of the box to shoot the old lady back in the beginning.

While the game rose to one of the great Champions League Knock -out matches of the past seasons, Ismael Saibari arrived in the box with perfect timing to clamber a deflected cross home and send the draw to extra time.

Despite a first dip in intensity when the game went in extra time, the home team continued to dominate and had to take the lead when Saibari could not find a way past Di Gregorio when he played in goal from a tight corner.

However, it turned out to be only a delay of the inevitable, as in the 98th minute Ryan Flamingo tapped from close home after neither Di Gregorio or Gatti succeeded in removing the danger of the Juventus box.

During a ruthless night the action was not yet taken, while Dusan Vlahovic rattled the pole of six meters, but in the end PSV would hold to take their place in the last 16 against Inter Milan or Arsenal.
