PUNDITS are forced to provide commentary for Chelsea vs Villa clash from Anfield

Sky Sports' pundits at Anfield were bizarrely forced to step in to comment on the opening few minutes of Chelsea's match against Aston Villa.

A major technical problem at Stamford Bridge led to an audio cutout, forcing host David Jones into an improvised – and awkward – segment live.

Roy Keane, Micah Richards and Daniel Sturridge also used the microphone during the first four minutes of the match as the broadcaster worked on a solution.

But the stadium commentary returned in the nick of time when Bill Leslie and Alan Smith provided action as Nicolas Jackson scored the opening goal.

Presenter Jones apologized for the technical problems shortly after kick-off.

“Unfortunately we're having a few technical and audio issues that you can hear at Stamford Bridge, if not more to the point,” Jones told viewers.

'So you're staying with us, this could be interesting, Anfield commentary on Chelsea vs Aston Villa.

“You always ask for more time to talk about football, so this is our time, Micah.”

There was a brief discussion about the early knocking in west London before Jones handed it back to lead commentator Leslie after about three minutes.

“Disappointingly, it appears our mistakes at Stamford Bridge have been resolved,” he joked.

The video from the stadium cut out as the match started, but returned after a few seconds – albeit without sound.

The match was the first on Sky's Super Sunday, ahead of Manchester City's mouth-watering visit to Premier League leaders Liverpool.
