Pyramids strike late to hold Sundowns in first leg of CAF Champions League final

A last-minute goal with thanks to Walid El Karti enabled Egyptian side pyramids to grab a 1-1 draw against South African giants Mamelodi-Sonondang in the first leg final of the Caf Champions League in Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Masandewana had searched for a slim benefit of the game after they took the lead in the 54th minute when Lucas Ribeiro produced individual sparkle to find the back of the net. With seconds, however, Walid El Karti surprised sunset with a clinical finish to bind the game on the way to the Return Leg final on 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Sunday 1 June.
