Quansah set for Liverpool exit but Guehi unlikely to be direct replacement

Liverpool has almost agreed to sell Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for a package that is expected to be worth more than £ 34 million (€ 40 million).

The last discussions are underway between the clubs and the player is ready to continue with the move as soon as a full agreement has been reached.

The name of Marc Guehi has come up with Liverpool again in the last 24 hours – and Sky Sports News has previously reported about their long -term interest in the player – but every prospect to sign him this summer is currently at a distance.

Arsenal and a number of other clubs are also enthusiastic about Guehi, but Sky Sports News understands that if he moved, he would certainly like to be a normal starter of the first team and compensation with Crystal Palace will not be easy.

That gives the idea that he would not be someone who is moving Liverpool to replace Quansah, and probably something that would be more influenced by a decision about the future of Ibrahima Konate. Conversations about a new deal should not yet lead to an agreement and he only has one year left from his current contract.

Liverpool searches the market for a new center -back – and ideally they want a young talent with a great potential. Last summer they were interested in Leny Yoro and this summer Dean Huijsen, who came to Real Madrid.

However, the club is relaxed about their defensive options, even if Quansah leaves. He only started one Premier League at the center of the past term. If an attractive market opportunity pops up, Liverpool will look seriously, but it must be the right player and they are willing to wait.

The second part will take place later today, after which he has to sign a five -year contract with a minimum salary of £ 195,000 a week, which could be £ 245,000 a week with bonuses.
