Brendan Schaub says Islam Makhachev should stop being a 'bully' and fight Belal Muhammad

At UFC 311, Islam Makhachev produced another spectacular performance, brutally defeating Renato Moicano with a Brabo choke in the opening round.

The impressive performance cemented the Russian as the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

Having racked up the most title defenses in UFC lightweight history, many are calling for the Dagestani to move up a weight class and take on Belal Muhammad for welterweight gold.

And Brendan Schaub is convinced that if the 33-year-old doesn't take on this challenge, he will be nothing more than a 'bully'.

WOW: Dana White and Daniel Cormier Disagree on a Major Issue in the Aftermath of the UFC 311 Main Event

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, 'Big Brown said: “Islam has to go up, you have to go up, that's all he can do. I don't want to see him fight Ilia Topuria, even if I take my money, I'll pay attention.

'If Belal beats Shavkat Rakhmonov, I will bet any amount of money that Islam will fight Belal. He won't let that friendship stop him from being cemented as a doubles champion – not a chance.

“I would like to see that. It should be Islam no matter what, against the winner of Belal vs Shavkat. Islam vs Shavkat – f**k yes. Islam vs. Belal – these are great fights.

“But the story of fighting a 145-pound fighter is coming, you already did that, stop hitting those guys, stop being a bully.

“Go upstairs; no one respects those little things. You have to go upstairs.”

Daniel Cormier gave Islam Makhachev a special gift for his statement win at UFC 311

Regardless of who Makhachev steps foot in the cage with next, at least for now, he'll be enjoying the rewards of another emphatic win.

After last weekend's fight, Daniel Cormier entered his locker room with a beaming smile on his face.

And in a moment that filled the 155-pound king with joy, the former two-weight world champion presented him with a fantastic gift.
