Sergio Ramos' wife Pilar Rubio has reportedly decided not to move to Mexico after the surprise movement of her husband to Monterrey on Friday.
The Spanish football legend signed a one -year contract with his new side after six months without having stayed a club.
The 38-year-old Center Back appeared on the field last time in May 2024 and played the entire game for Sevilla in a 2-1 home defeat to Barcelona in Laliga.
For its new side, the Spaniard carries no. 93, in a tribute to his iconic goal against Rivals Atletico Madrid in the 2013-14 Champions League final.
According to Bild journalist Javi de Hoyos, the wife of Ramos – the famous TV presenter Pilar Rubio – decided to stay in Spain for 'professional reasons'.
'Pilar Rubio will not move to Mexico with Sergio Ramos. Last Friday someone in the neighborhood of Pilar told me she was tired moving, “said the Hoyos.
“She went to Paris with him, then Ramos went to Sevilla. Later she decided to go to Madrid for professional reasons. She really likes to live there. '
Rubio is a popular Spanish reporter, TV presenter and model. Her decision to stay in Spain can be related to the fact that she will participate as a judge in the weekly Antena 3 match, El Desafio, and the fashion reality show Maestros de la Costura Celebrity.
The Hoyos added: 'When Ramos made this decision, she said: “This time I will not admit, I have already given it twice. Now I am staying here, in Madrid. The family stays here, Sergio goes alone. “
“She can no longer tolerate it to move again.”
The couple started a relationship in 2012 and married seven years later. They have four children, Sergio JR, Marco, Alejandro and Maximo Adriano.
Ramos has constantly fought with injuries since his unexpected exit from Real Madrid, where he could be seen in 671 games while scored 101 goals.
He followed with a free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, next to Barcelona Icon Lionel Messi with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Georginio Wijnaldum.
However, Ramos could not return to his best physical form and came back to his boy's club Sevilla because they have struggled in LaLiga in recent seasons.
His new side Monterrey will be one of the 32 teams participating in this summer's FIFA Club World Cup in the US.
They will compete in group E next to River Plate, Urawa Red Diamonds and Inter Milan.
