Rampage Jackson confirms comeback fight with former rival as location for boxing debut planned

Whether it's the love of active competition or the lure of another big payday, influencer boxing continues to entice former MMA stars to retire.

Earlier today, it was announced that two long-retired UFC legends will compete in an influencer boxing match sometime in 2025, more than a decade since they first fought under the UFC banner.

Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson is set to beat Rashad Evans again in boxing

15 years after meeting in the UFC octagon, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans have reportedly agreed to fight each other in 2025 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

“BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! IT IS HAPPENING,” read the Instagram post from Influencer Crossover Series promotion, in partnership with Signature Punch Boxing.

“The rivalry reignites in 2025 when two MMA legends enter the boxing ring! Rashad “Suga” Evans vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson – a rematch over a decade in the making!”

The exact date and location for the event have not yet been officially announced, although it will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2025.

“This is more than a fight; it's HISTORY. Witness the clash of two icons in a battle for skill, power and legacy. Don't miss your chance to be part of the action! Stay tuned for venue announcements and PPV details… Trust us, you won't want to miss this.”

Jackson will be looking for revenge for their 2010 fight in the UFC, which Evans won via unanimous decision after a hilarious season of coaching against each other on The Ultimate Fighter.

As influencer boxing continues to tempt former UFC superstars into retirement, this particular boxing fight shouldn't necessarily come as a surprise, with both Evans and Jackson having teased that their rivalry was far from over.

“I just didn't like him at the time,” Jackson explained in a previous interview with Demetrious Johnson, revealing how the pair were able to squash their beef after appearing next to each other on a Hollywood movie set.

“The director of A-Team Joe Carnahan made another movie called Boss Level and he had a clever idea to make Rashad and me German twins. We were on set and it was kind of hard at first, but after a while we became cool, and we've been guys ever since, but I feel like I still have that unfinished business with him.

“He said he was planning to fight me in a boxing match. I don't think he wants MMA anymore because he knows I would stick my foot up his ass in MMA. He just got lucky and hit me, so he thinks he can outbox me, so hopefully that will happen one day.

Since hanging up the gloves, Jackson has found major success with his podcast, JAXXON, alongside former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold.

The pair have told countless incredible stories from back in the day, including who trained the hardest, how Rampage once got the “sickest contract in UFC history” and how it all came crashing down.
