Rangnick slams Man Utd decision-making, warns Ratcliffe, and questions a signing

Former interim boss of Manchester United Ralf Rangnick has reached the lack of decision makers at the club.

Rangnick was interim boss of United between December 2021 and May 2022.

Although United has won trophies such as the FA Cup and the League Cup in recent years, the club's general process is very worrying for supporters.

Last season United, now managed by Ruben Amorim, finished in 15th place in the Premier League, while they were defeated by Tottenham in the Europa League final.

United has tried several approaches since the departure of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, but have difficulty finding the right formula, especially led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos.

Rangnick also hinted that he would not have signed one big money star.

Rangnick expressed his conviction that he thinks United has a 'leadership problem'.

As reported by Sport, Rangnick said: 'I think we should go back to 2013, when Sir Alex left the club. And the moment he was still there, he was the brain behind all this. He probably also brought many important people to the club. And the moment he left, some of those people probably also left the club. And since then I think they have a leadership problem.

'Who really makes the decisions and why do they make them? Are they really the best people for the job? I can only tell you that the six months that I was there was difficult to say, even for me as a head coach.

“Who were the decision makers? Who? Who could I talk to? If we wanted to sign new players, it was difficult. There were people, but in the end it was difficult. '

United has various high -profile officials, including Director of Sport Dave Brailsford and technical director Jason Wilcox.

Rangnick, who is now the coach of the national team of Austria, stated that clubs should try to invest in talented young players, unlike those who are between 28 and 30 years old.

Rangnick's reactions seem to be a thin desired excavation at Casemiro, who signed United from Real Madrid at the age of 30 in the summer of 2022 for £ 60 million plus £ 10 million to add-ons.

'If I was the owner or sports director of a club, I would only try to sign and invest in young players. Because no matter how you look at it, it's just logical. Is it logical to spend 30, 40, 50 million on a 28-or-30-year signature? Not really.

“Let's calculate it. You sign a 28 or 30-year-old with a five-year contract. You spend 50 million more on transfer costs, on average 15 million euros per year multiplied by five. That is 65 million plus the 50 million transfer costs equal to 115 million, plus the costs of the agents. The entire operation costs you around 130 million. '

Casemiro stays with United and has made 125 performances for the club.

United has spent more than £ 600 million on transfers since the departure of Rangnick, but some of those deals have certainly not succeeded as expected.
