Raphinha hopes to retire at Barcelona after signing new contract

Barcelona -Vleugel player Raphinha has signed a contract extension that will hold him with the Liga champions until 2028, the club announced on Thursday.

The Brazilian international, who came to Barca in 2022, would not have a contract out of the contract in 2027, but agreed after an excellent season.

Raphinha was previously linked to a relocation of the Blaugrana and was excellent under Hansi Flick.

The 28-year-old scored 18 goals and offered nine assists in LaLiga while Barca defeated Real Madrid to the title, but he has reserved some of his best versions for the Champions League.

The 13 goals of Raphinha and eight assists in the European Elite Club competition have lifted him to Ballon d'Or-schedule, although Barca lost to Inter in the semi-final.

Both Raphinha and Barca should now have many more opportunities to enter into Europe in years after the new deal.

Indeed, the former Leeds United man now hopes that he can see the rest of his career in Barca colors.

“This is very worthwhile for me and is something very special,” he told Barca One. “It makes me very happy and a personal goal since I arrived is to give the fans a lot of joy.

“I spoke with my family and my dream is to be here until the end of my career. And I hope to do it at my best.”
