Marcus Rashford has hit out at “ridiculous” claims he was looking for a new agent amid unrest over his current status at Manchester United.
A report this week claimed that Rashford had met with a leading sports agency in a bid to broker a move away from Old Trafford after seeing his playing time dry up in recent weeks.
It comes after the England international hinted in an interview last month that he would be willing to leave United and was ready “for a new challenge” after falling out of favor under new head coach Ruben Amorim.
Rashford has not featured in any of United's last five games in all competitions. He was left out of the matchday squad for four consecutive games, starting with the Manchester derby, before being an unused substitute in Monday's defeat to Newcastle United.
However, Rashford took to social media to dismiss claims that he was planning to change his agent.
“A lot of false stories have been written in recent weeks but guys this is getting ridiculous. I have never met an agency and have no plans,” he wrote on an Instagram story, along with a screenshot of an article in The Sun .
Rashford scored three goals in Amorim's first three matches, but failed to score in the next three games before being left out of the squad.
In total, the 27-year-old has scored seven goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for United this season, while only Amad Diallo (eight) and Bruno Fernandes (nine) have been involved in more goals than him in the Premier League this season. (five).
The Red Devils have lost their last four games in all competitions, including their last three in the Premier League. Since December and February 1979, they have not lost four league games in a row in the same season, while the last time they suffered four defeats in a row without scoring was in April 1909.
They play Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
