Marcus Rashford enjoyed his time on loan in Aston Villa and has a clear preference for his next step as the West Midlands Club Mull about a permanent deal.
Marcus Rashford is more inclined to stay in Aston Villa than to look for a move abroad this summer. The 27-year-old, who came on loan from Manchester United in February, enjoyed his return to the regular First team of football after being closed by Ruben Amorim.
Villa has the option to make Rashford's Put permanent for £ 40 million, but their transfer plans can depend on which European competition they are eligible. Although Rashford had previously considered a potential relocation to Barcelona, Express Sport reports that his successful Stint under Manager Unai Emery – in which he scored four goals and has delivered five assists – persuaded him to stay in Villa Park.
Rashford will have input in his future, but the final decision about a permanent step to the West Midlands is not entirely up to him. Villa might try to negotiate their £ 40 million option, but the hefty £ 350,000 a weekly wage of Rashford can be a major obstacle.
This salary would make him the best -paid Villa player with a considerable margin and it could also scare Barcelona. It has been suggested that Rashford Agent Pini Zahavi has engaged to explore a move to the Catalan club, because there is no certainty that Villa can meet its financial requirements – especially if they cannot guarantee the Champions League qualification.
Although Rashford's contract with United runs until 2028, a return to Old Trafford is seen as very unlikely.
Whether other interested parties will join the battle this summer is still to be seen, following earlier links to Borussia Dortmund, Serie A clubs and teams in the Saudi Pro League.
Some Villa supporters are afraid that they might already witness Rashford's last performance in Claret and Blue because of a hamstring injury he sustained last month.
The forward, able to play centrally or on the left wing, undertook a rehabilitation program for hot weather in Dubai to accelerate his recovery, and a return before the season was concluded, was initially not excluded.
That said, the home game against Tottenham is the last match that is eligible to play in Rashford, while Villa goes to Old Trafford on the last day.
Rashford returned to the English team in March after a year -long absence, and to become fit for the second games of Thomas Tuchel Next month is a top priority.
